Susan Francesconi, M.A.PS
I have been engaged in the creative arts all of my life: sewing, drawing, painting, and making things. After earning a B. A. in Fine Arts, I worked in the graphic design field, and later opened a drapery design and fabrication workroom, and a floral design business.
Several years ago I made the jump from the art field to “The Creator’s” field. I earned a Masters of Arts in Pastoral Studies from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, IL. I have worked both as the Director of External Communications at St. Thomas the Apostle in Naperville, IL and as the Director of Evangelization at Ss Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hoboken, NJ.
Thanks to each of these experiences and the opportunity to study Sacred Spaces for Worship with professor Eileen D. Crowley, Ph.D, I developed this guide to planning, creating, and installing sacred art for liturgy. As a pastoral minister, my focus is and always has been finding ways to bring God’s beauty to light, in picture, in word, in nature, and in relationship to everyone I meet. It is my hope that the information provided here, and its continued expansion will help faith communities of all denominations create worthy art for worship.
I’d love to hear from you.
