The process of creating Sacred Art in community
Working in community to create art for liturgy is formative: it builds relationships, teaches listening skills, encourages presence, and leads to greater overall participation in the worship experience. For example, when children are involved in creating art, or when members of a congregation or parish are invited to help, they participate in the discernment process or theological reflection that inspires the work, actively engage in the art’s creation, and most importantly, they become more present to the liturgy for which the art was produced.
