A Guide to the Planning, Creating, and Installation of Art for Liturgy

What is the purpose of liturgical art? How is it created, and by whom? How is it installed? If you are curious about the role of liturgical art and would like to see more of it in your church but you aren’t sure where to begin, or if you are already involved in creating sacred spaces and want some new ideas and support, you’ve come to the right place.

Take a look at the menu at the top of this page. This is the foundation of this website. Here you will find information that will help lead pastoral staff, liturgical art committees, and artists through the beginning phases of planning art projects through to their installation.

You will also find case studies from three area experts who have shared their experience with planning, creation, and installation. Insights, articles and pertinent information will be included in the site’s blog area, Sketching in the Reign. Naturally, reader feedback is always welcome and greatly appreciated. Please do share your thoughts and experiences.
